It was amazing to see some of the rooms and the church however the dolls room was closed and it was raining. It was very cold watching changing of the guard. Recommend taking a raincoat. I was not happy about how pushy some of the tourist were while watching the changing of the guard and someone nearly poked my eye out with an umbrella. Recommend getting there for changing of the guard 20 minutes before. Also the line to get in was unbelievable. I am lucky I arrived an hour early to line up. The line then went down the street and around the corner.
The weather is an important part of being a tourist. When it's too hot, it's unbearable, and when it's wet, you just get wet. I enjoy the commentary on the bus, and the sights I saw whilst on the bus, that was lovely and worth the long trip getting out there. I did not know that I had to pay extra for the train to get out there and could not use my Oyster card. That information would have been helpful. Luckily the ticketing officer sold me the correct ticket on the train.
So impressive to be allowed so much access to this unique castle, it's full of so many interesting items and comprehensive details of history, felt so privileged to have been able to spend as much time absorbing the feel and surroundings on offer. The changing of the guard was very impressive.
Windsor Castle was just amazing. We were lucky enough to be able to climb the tower. It is so worth the money, but you really need a whole day to see the castle properly. Don’t forget to go to the church as well.
The cost of the ticket was worth it just to see the castle. But we would have also liked to go inside Saint George’s Chapel but this was closed. So our visit wasn’t as long as we had hoped
