What people are saying about Wieliczka
We went on an early trip which was great, pick up 7:30am which he was there for on time, he knew English well and introduced him self as Greg. He got us to the venue in plenty of time so we were able to have a break before going in. The salt mines them self are a must see! they are beautiful and breathe taking however if you do need to pay 10 zloty to take photos. The driver was waiting for us when we came out of the mine and we left prompt once all passenger came back. Tour lasted around 4.5 hours from pick up to drop off with the pick up location being easy to find (with a nice view of wawel castle)
This is a great tour at both venues. It is a long day, but worth it and we scheduled to do both in a day from Krakow. Our driver's personality left a bit to be desired and didn't really seem to like what he was doing. Fortunately, he wasn't our tour guide at the venues. The guides we had were great at both places. There was a bit too much time in Wieliczka for lunch and waiting for our appointed tour at the mines for some reason we didn't quite understand, but wondered the small town and found some ice cream to pass the time.
Fantastic opportunity! was abit rushed as we had 1 guide for 37 people, which was abit too much for the guide as people kept disappearing so we spent most of the time waiting for these to be found. Also, could you mention that one has to walk over 400 steps down and to use the lift down, one has to pay extra. For those who with health problems , it helps to get prepared. Thank you to the lady that took us round, very funny and experienced.
The pick up and drop off all ran smoothly, the exhibit itself was a brilliant treat, however once the tour was over it was time to go, the tour itself is slightly rushed and then packed back to go to Krakow, plus an addition tour of the mine was an hour which was time we weren’t given, the option would have been nice, all in all a brilliant experience and well worth it
We booked the tour one week in advance and when we got there, it was easy to find the info tour, approx. 100 m down the road from the mine entrance. The woman guiding us was very professional, she told us stories about old family miners, we had visual effects in some areas of the mine, giving a very entertaining note to the tour.
