During this 1-hour exploration with a dedicated guide leading the way, you’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look at George Washington’s Mount Vernon that most visitors don't experience. Discover George Washington’s unique plan for his gardens and landscape, and learn about the fascinating history of Mount Vernon’s outbuildings and why they are still standing. This private tour can be customized to meet specific interests right from the outset.

Upon arrival, you will meet the guide at the Ford Orientation Center, at which point you can letthem know of any particular interests that you have in and around this historic area. Your private tour guides will take up to 10 guests on this private customized experience.

Once the tour is finished, it will be your time to explore other features on the estate, such as the museum, education center, distillery, and gristmill (April-October), as well as the tombs of George and Martha Washington.

Inside the museum and education center, you will see original objects, such as his famous dentures, and can also watch the American Revolution come to life in a 4-D theater where it snows every day.
