The magical highlights of the Harry Potter Studio Tour

Muggles may not be allowed inside the real Hogwarts, but Harry Potter fans will rejoice at the chance to explore the Warner Brothers Studio, where all the movies were shot. Here are five magical highlights from the Harry Potter universe that await you.

Ride the Hogwarts Express

Step aboard the real Hogwarts Express steam engine used in the films and relive Harry's magical rides to Hogwarts – just for those who know how to get to Platform 9 3/4, of course.

Explore Hogwarts

Visit the movie sets: if you always wanted to walk across the Great Hall, snoop through Dumbledore's Office, or hang out in the Gryffindor Common Room, now's your chance!

The magic behind the magic

How does Harry disappear behind the invisibility cloak? Does the Great Hall's ceiling really reflect the sky? Find out all the secrets behind the movie's magical special effects.

Meet the magical creatures

Over 200 magical creatures were created for the films. You'll get the chance to meet house elves and the Gringotts goblins, and to say hi to Hagrid's friends, Buckbeak and Aragog.

See the props and costumes

What would a wizard be without his robes, wands, and cauldrons? These and countless other magical items from across the series are on display.

Our insider tips

Make sure to get the Activity Passport

Activity Passports are available for free from the info desk by the entrance. If you're there with kids, definitely grab one as it includes fun activities such as a Golden Snitch hunt and six passport stamps to collect throughout the studio – a great souvenir to take home!

Ride the legendary double decker bus

If you're coming by public transport, take the train to Watford Junction and from there, ride the Harry Potter double decker bus to the studios. It's a more convenient way to get there than by regular transport, as it's cheap, the buses come roughly every 10 minutes, and they drop you directly at the entrance to the studios.

What people are saying about Warner Bros. Studio London

This was an awesome experience and the highlight of our trip.

Andi our guide was absolutely amazing. We've taken many tours and have had a range of quality guides, she is literally the best we have ever had. So thorough, detailed, knowledgeable, and absolutely lovely.

Great day, lovely car, ran like clockwork

What a great day, the driver was on time, the car was spotless. The studio tour was great and the transfer back to the city was lovely. Highly recommend this company.

This tour was brilliant, great fun and very suitable for all ages.

The bus left on time, giving us maximum time to enjoy this magical tour. The day was full of fun and laughter, flying and swooping and we three (62, 31 and 13) had such a good time. The hotdogs and burgers were delicious and washed down by the butterbeer and butterbeer ice-cream, yum. We got loads of brilliant photos to relive this fabulous day. Definitely recommend it and we look forward to returning next time we are in London.

Excellent insider on the Harry Potter films

Spend 4 fabulous hours getting a behind the scenes view of the stages, props and filming techniques used in bringing Harry Potter from the books to the big screen. Brought back wonderful memories of the time spent submerged in the books and movies. Highly recommended for any Harry Potter lover.

If you are a Potterhead, you have to visit!

From London it took one hour with the bus to go to the studios. When we got there, we had plenty of time to check it out. The studios are very big and everything you can think of about Harry Potter is there. Every prop and costume and there were also places you can do things like flying a broom, that was awesome! Very nice souvenir shops and when we got back with the bus, we could choose between two places to get off which was nice because the first one was closer to our hotel. Overall very nice and we would definitely recommended!
