What people are saying about Verona
My husband and I signed up for this class, as we love gelato and were excited to learn how to make it. What we got was so much more - instruction by the talented, passionate and enigmatic Alex, the opportunity to make not just gelato, but tiramisu and peach sorbet as well. Every item we made was delicious and created with care. Alex truly wanted us to be able to recreate the desserts at home, which was great. The kitchen space was beautiful and perfect for this activity. It was very much a hands-on experience, and we had a chance to mingle with the other participants as well. The cost was more than reasonable! An unforgettable experience, highly recommended!
Our guide, Michele, was fantastic. He was early, identifiable and engaging throughout the tour. DO NOT EAT BEFORE THIS TOUR! It is a wonderful "progressive dinner" through Verona starting with coffee and a sample of pastry, then cheese/bread/wine, then tortellini (try the pumpkin!!!) and ending with a lunch. You will not go into any sites; this is a food tour. As you pass sites, Michele will point them out to you for future reference. You'll still get great exterior photos of them, like the arena. We only wish we could've stayed longer and dined with him that night!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour.
Enjoyed every minute from the first coffee and pastries to the final gelato. Multiple stops with great food and people at each. It was obvious that she loves her job. Each stop we met people who knew her and were as passionate about food and wine and coffee as she is. We had a private tour as no one else signed up for a Saturday; their loss our gain. We even got to make our own tortellini which was cooked for us . It was awesome to say the least. Although a food and wine tour, we were introduced to many of the historic sights of Verona. This tour is highly recommended, and Diana in particular.
We were met by Bernadett at 10am near the castle vecchio arches, with a warm welcome and found we were the only 2 people doing the tour today. That was fine with us as it made the excursion more personal, Bernadett took us to a local patisserie whe we experienced local delicacies made withcornmeal and drank local coffee with the locals. all along the way she explained to us about the local culture and about landmarks we passed as we passed them. We went to Juliet's house where we saw the balcony and lots of padlocks people had locked there with their love
A refreshing change from your bog standard tour. Our guide Diana was friendly and took us to places we may not have otherwise found. We were treated to local delicacies like pastries, hams, cheeses, ice cream and wine which were all included in the price of the tour. Would definitely recommend anyone to book this tour when visiting Verona.
