Full description
Departing from Vancouver at 08:30 after a 7:30 check-in, a 95 passenger vessel will whisk you around Stanley Park and out into the Strait of Georgia before heading south toward Victoria in search of whales. Trained Naturalists will guide you and answer questions on the 2 different Orca types and 3 different whale species that frequent the Gulf Islands. Resident and Transient Orcas, Minke, Humpback, and Grey Whales are all possibilities as well as several species of seals, sea lions, and porpoises. Eagles, Shearwaters, and several other marine bird species are also common.

Arrive in Victoria around 12:30 pm, where you’ll have free time for lunch before being transported to the Butchart Gardens by guided coach. Make sure you have your camera ready as you explore the famous Sunken Gardens, as the Hummingbirds, Butterflies and flowers make for excellent photo opportunities. After a full afternoon of exploring the beautiful Gardens, head to a private dock for your return trip to Vancouver.

Depart the Butchart Gardens at 16:30 from a private dock in the Japanese Garden for the 2.5-hour Gulf Island Cruise that will take you back to Vancouver.

Super recommended!

We spotted several whales after about 2.5 hours of sailing, so don't be discouraged if these beautiful mammals don't show up right away. The guides were expert, super prepared and attentive. Perhaps the only thing that I was a little sorry about was not having more time to visit Victoria. Otherwise everything is perfect, from organization to sighting. I would do it again !!

Highly recommend this trip. The check-in process was so easy with a friendly gentleman waiting at the door with his tablet because the desk was busy. The scenery was lovely, and the staff was amazing. They were constantly on the lookout for the whales and communicating with other boats to locate them. Plus they never kept you guessing on your location or what to expect. I get sea sick very easily and they took the time to come and check on me periodically to make sure I was feeling ok, and to see if I needed anything. They provided personable service to everyone, and the fact that Wilma would come to each individual or family grouping to keep us updated on where we were, and the plan to find the whales was pleasantly unexpected. You really feel the care they took in your safety and satisfaction; and the knowledge they had was so impressive. Thank you Wilma, Pascale, Anthony and Captain Malcolm. You made our trip enjoyable and unforgettable.
