What people are saying about Vancouver

There is a city and a park route. I bought the 48 hour pass with the boat tour and night tour included. This was ample time to take both tours and hop off and on as we wished. We got off at Stanley Park and wales around for a couple of hours and rejoined the tour a few stops down. We also got off at Granville island and walked around the market and food market - this is well worth getting off for. The city tour takes in China town, Gastown and passes various sports stadiums which is great. The boat tour was quite so we were very lucky to have an exclusive tour for me and my daughter which was great! These tours are a great way to see Vancouver. The e-boat tour is highly recommended to see the city from a different angle - you may even be lucky enough to see the see planes take off and land while you are on the water

Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Bus Tour of Vancouver: Gave a great tour and some sense of the history of the city and some of its communities. As a hop-on hop-off, I took a number of stops with my elementary school age child. Tour drivers were very friendly and completely helpful and this was a good family activity. I only wish there was more of a focus on architectural history/development. We liked the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Center but were interested in learning why it bears the name of the founder of the Chinese Republic, revered by all Chinese be they Communist or Nationalist. Did he live in Vancouver? This tour made me think Vancouver is a great place to live and certainly proved it was a great place to visit!

The first day our driver named Meenu was exceptional because she clearly spoke about all the relevant sights as well as public art. She was very informative. On our second day the driver did not talk much, preferring to run a recorded version of sightseeing highlights. The bus was running behind schedule on this day. When he dropped us off at Stanley Park he said the next bus would pick up in one hour. Unfortunately, the next bus was on schedule and came by 40 minutes later, which caused us to miss it. We had to wait an hour for the next pickup. It’s unfortunate that they did not communicate this to us.

The female voice on the recorded loop constantly referred to her interests, her likes, her abilities, etc. It would be more pleasant if she simply suggested points of interest to the visitor and avoided relating everything to herself. (i.e. "This stadium is the home of Vancouver's revered Canucks" rather than "I love to go to hockey games in this stadium".)

The route was great, it provided coverage to all the major Vancouver attractions and communities. The bus on the first day was very comfortable; second day, the weather was rainy and cold yet the bus had only temporary plastic window coverings. The back of the bus was wide open to the elements. It was damp and cold on the bus.
