Full description
A minibus will pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia and take you an hour away from the city towards a winter refuge in the Valley Tierra Mayor. From here, start a 2-hour trek to Esmeralda Lagoon, crossing dense woods, freezing streams and hanging glaciers, always accompanied by a local guide.

The Emerald Lagoon trail is one of the traditional treks in Tierra del Fuego, and its name refers to the imposing color of its waters. Reach the lagoon, get your first views of Ojo del Albino Glacier and enjoy some free time to discover the surrounding wildlife; ducks paddling across the lagoon, hard-working beavers, and the native red fox.

Continue towards the glacier, walking for 2 hours through a challenging path towards Ojo del Albino Glacier, one of the most beautiful glaciers in Ushuaia. Once there, grab your crampons (spiked shoes) to walk on the ice, exploring the glacier and its lagoon full of floating icebergs. Start your trek back and have lunch at a special viewpoint before returning to the refuge. From there, board the transportation back to Ushuaia.
