What people are saying about Ubud

An exhilarating way to explore Bali culture

This bike tour was a fantastic way to explore the gorgeous rice paddy fields and villages surrounding Ubud and see real Bali life unspoilt by lots of tourists. Our guide was really informative and there were stops to view a coffee plantation (on the way in the car to the cycling starting point), rice paddy fields (not the famous Tegalalang rice terraces it must be noted), a local temple (although you couldn’t go in) and a traditional Balinese family compound. Lunch was provided at the end. My only negatives was the coffee plantation staff were quite forceful about getting you to buy things from their shop. They also kept civets in small cages (the animals whose poo creates the famous Luwak coffee) which made for uncomfortable viewing ethically and which we weren’t warned was going to be a stop on the tour pre booking. The bike seats were also not the most comfortable. Otherwise a great day out, although I’d urge the company to drop the coffee plantation stop.

A whirlwind of excitement and dangers, thrill seekers only

What an amazing experience!! We were not expecting this! Such good value for money. The canyon was beautiful and our guide was extremely helpful/ lovely. We are two young girls who are physically fit but there were some elements of this trek that were very hard and would advise only physically able/ strong people to do this trip. Some of the rock edges were very narrow and slippery... would be good if you were an experienced rock climber! Our guide was helpful; however he had 4 people to help cross the rocks so sometimes we were left to do our own footing which was scary at times! My friend fell on the slippery rocks, she was ok, the guide helped but if you have a serious fall, there is no way out other than the climb back, however, our guide was attentive and gave my friend antiseptic cream for her cut. It’s a must do for people with the energy! we did thoroughly enjoyed it, just be prepared and wear sea shoes... we were bare feet and the stones hurt! Enjoy

The Hidden Canyon was one of the best experiences I have ever had.

The Hidden Canyon was great, but in hindsight, I am glad we did not have any small children with us. I was wonderful to be in an uncrowded part of Bali and to challenge yourself to traversing the canyon in the water. It would have been good to bring reef shoes and a surfing outfit, but it was not clear to me from the description that we would be climbing, walking and swimming in the river for about 2 hours. The guide was great, he took really good care of us, and made sure we were safe, even though it really was dangerous, especially balancing across the top of the waterfall over slippery stones at the very end (a rope may help...). The waterfall as the next stop was a complete shock with the masses of tourists, and we did not enjoy that. Lunch was very good and peaceful near the rice terraces. The 2 temples at the end were beautiful and not at all overrun, located in spectacular locations. Overall a very enjoyable day (and very sore the next day).

Awesome tour and guide well worth the early start

This was an amazing tour with and exceptional guide. We were picked up at 1.30am on the dot by our friendly driver Putu we picked another couple up in Ubud and we were on our way. We met our guide Tehnik at the bottom of the mountain who gave us flash lights and water for the trek up. Tehnik was fantastic he set a steady pace suited for everyone in the group and made sure we had plenty of breaks along the way. He was friendly and happy the whole way and gave us options as to which way we wanted to go. Once Tehnik realised I was afraid of heights he paid extra attention to me helping me up over difficult bits and making sure I felt comfortable. Breakfast at the top was simple but delicious and just what was needed after the trek up. Overall an exceptional tour and fabulous fantastic guide amazing experience we would definitely do this again

Breathtaking Batur lava field experience and views

Expensive but worth every penny. Picked up in a jeep with roof down felt like a movie star. Prompt pick up, some language barrier sometimes but generally good conversation. Stopped for coffee at Saro mountain view and had lunch there too. Was lovely seeing Mount Batur early morning and afternoon as got two very different views. Standing in a real lava field was a once in a lifetime experience. The hot springs was a lovely way to relax and unwind too.
