Full description
Your tour begins by visiting Klis Fortress, a Medieval fortress situated near Split. Due to its strategic position between two mountains, it was chosen as a royal castle of numerous Croatian dukes and kings and later played a major role in defense of all of Dalmatia from the Ottomans and their invasions. Klis Fortress is also known as one of the filming locations of the popular TV show Game of Thrones, in which it was used to portray the fictional city-state Meereen.

You can explore the historical sights within the Klis fortress, visit exhibitions of historical weapons and military uniforms, or enjoy an optional guided tour accompanied by a local tour guide from the historical ceremonial unit Kliski Uskoci. This guide will demonstrate military attractions of swordsmanship and archery in which you can also partake in this interactive part of the tour.

Following Klis Fortress, the tour will take you to the ethno-agro park Stella Croatica, a recognized producer of traditional Dalmatian hand-made delicacies. You can enjoy a guided tour through the production area and beautiful Mediterranean botanical garden, learn about the gastronomical legacy of Dalmatia and the life of locals throughout history. After the tour you will take a break for a light lunch in the ethno-agro park, during which you will have a chance to taste some of the traditional delicacies such as various types of cheese, olives, dry figs, traditional walnut and almond cake, tapenades, and 3 different award-winning olive oils. Don’t miss a chance to visit the gift shop where you will have the opportunity to buy some of the traditional Dalmatian products such as sweets, cookies, olive oils, liqueurs and jams, all made from natural ingredients and at affordable factory prices.

The tour will later finish with a visit to the breathtaking Vranjača Cave, one of the most beautiful pearls of the Karst landscape which was declared a protected geomorphological natural monument, situated in the base of Mosor Mountain. You can explore the chambers rich with stalagmites, stalactites, pillars and arcades with a local guide, and experience the wonders of this millions of years old natural attraction.
