Trim Castle: Tours & Tickets

Miserable weather for our first stop at Tara but while warming up over a cup of tea the sin came out and we had a wonderful day! Many of the places we walked were muddy and slipping was a hazard. The places we stopped were interesting but involved a lot of walking so if you have mobility issues this tour may be difficult for you. Plenty of rest time to recover from the hikes though. The place we lunched in Loughcrew was tasty and well priced. Loved seeing Trim castle but disappointed we weren't allowed to access the keep.

Visiting ancient tombs, Trim Castle and the Hill of Tara with Hill Top Treks was an incredible highlight of my week in Ireland. The tour guide, Eamon, was insightful,extremely knowledgeable and kept all of us in the van laughing the whole time. I enjoyed seeing the winding back roads and scenery that were generally out of bounds when I took a bus tour of the Emerald Isle given by a larger tourist company the rest of the week. I'll definitely book other tours with Hill Top Treks if I ever return to Ireland.

We took this tour on a day with particularly bad weather, but that didn't dissuade Eamon from taking us to all scheduled stops. We were pleasantly surprised by the small group size as it made our experience more intimate and unique. Being able to enter such a sacred space as Fourknocks with such a small group was so memorable. Unfortunately, the driving wind and rain prevented us from spending as much time at The Hill of Tara as we would have liked.

4th of january 2019, my boyfriend and I went on the Ireland's Ancient East Tour. The tour was very interesting, but was especially amazing thanks to the wonderful guides Connor and Marty. They were both very knowledgeful and passionate about Boyne Valley, and they were really what made the tour.

I took this tour alone and was a little apprehensive but we had a great group of people from all over the world. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our tour guide Kevin was knowledgeable and entertaining and made it a very fun day. I would definitely book another tour with Extreme Irish.
