What people are saying about Tomar
What a wonderful day I enjoyed to these fascinating Templar sites with my three tour mates, our guide Ricardo, and assistant Miguel. We also enjoyed two stops for a delicious local pastry and a tasty and convivial lunch. Our guide Ricardo has an extensive knowledge of Templar history which he related with great enthusiasm. I especially enjoyed hearing about the Portuguese Templar connection as we toured the sites. Miguel added so much to the conversation in terms of Portuguese art and culture. It was a full, rich and hospitable day.
The trip from Lisbon to Sintra was nice and then to Pena Palace quite beautiful! The Palace tour was lovely and included a bit of a hike to the top, all worth it! Then the drive to the beach was not bad and we had a few hours there to shop and eat. The only thing that was missing was the Wine Tasting, which we were really looking forward to participating in...our voucher noted a wine tasting but one of the other couples voucher did not.
Ricardo our guide was very knowledgable about the history of the Knights Templar, so we spent a fascinating day seeing sites associated with the Knights in Portugal, and learning about them. It was a small group tour of only 7 of us, which was great. Not only was the history interesting, but we saw lovely scenery and visited some lovely towns as well. A very fascinating and enjoyable day.
Paula and Anna were excellent companions for our day which turned out to be a personal tour. They made very effort to make the day interesting and comfortable. They spoke English well, listened to our questions, knew their material, were flexible, efficient and provided for all our needs. And they were fun to be with.
Ana, called “the secret weapon” was absolutely amazing with us, she knows everything and really take care about us. Her English is perfect, she has a lot of advice that you have to follow if you want to enjoy everything. I highly recommend her and this tour.
