What people are saying about Tivoli

Private guide & driver/car to Villa dEste & Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli.

As we had limited time in Rome we chose this tour as it only takes half a day due to the fact you leave earlier, the car is faster than a bus and you don't have a long lunch break in Tivoli like the bus tours. The guide and driver in a Mercedes met us at our apartment at 8.30. We drove to both villas for our private tours. Due to the early start we were at the Villas before the tour bus crowds. Both Villas are definitely worth a visit from Rome. We arrived back in Rome at lunch time and were dropped off at the Colosseum with plenty of time to have lunch and visit more sites in Rome. The guide was informative and the driver very polite with a spotless luxury car. The price was a lot cheaper than alternative companies for private tours.

Two great locations, lovely lunch, expert guide

I had not realised until it was pointed out by the expert guide that there was a relationship between Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este apart from being conveniently close to each other. The guide's insights added a great deal of interest to the trip for me. She was also good at creating the feeling of being a group so the delicious lunch at Antica Trattoria de Falcone was a convivial occasion. A great and memorable day.

Very beautiful scenery and interesting ruins

The visit at Villa D"este was lovely. The gardens and fountains are beautiful. The ruins of Adrian's palace were very interesting and the guide provided background information that made it come to life.

Rome: Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este Half-Day Tour Reviewed by a GetYourGuide customer, 27/06/2016

Very well organized; it was well worth the money.

I live in California and my friend in Austria. In August, we booked a German Tour in Rome for Tivoli, so my friend could follow the tour in her native language. A small bus collected us from our hotel and brought us to the office where we were sorted into groups according to language and destination. We were ushered to a large bus with A/C; it was 114 F on that day, so the A/C was much appreciated. The 1 hour drive to Tivoli was conducted in English, but a German speaking tour guide was also aboard. Once we arrived at our destination, it turned out that my friend and I were the only two customers for the German Tour, so it was like a private tour. The German speaking tour guide in Rome was from Mexico City. He did an excellent job, had all his facts at his fingertips and was very adept in presenting us with a plethora of knowledge in a most interesting way. Green Line was a very good experience, and I highly recommend it. (Gray Line Vatican Tour was disorganized, would not recommend.)
