What people are saying about Tiberias
We were really impressed at how well organized and efficient everything ran on the day. Before joining the tour I had concerns (based to other reviews) that it might be too commercialized and that we would end up spending loads of time in souvenir shops. I was happily proven wrong. We spent only about 20mins in a shop. Ornit, our guide, was very knowledgeable about history and traditions and very good at keeping to the schedule. It was a really enjoyable day, the church of multiplication and the sea of Galilee were the highlights of the trip for me.
The tour guide was ok. It is worth to visit Nazaret, Capernaum once in a lifetime, but it is not real I think! People hundreds of years ago built some temple somewhere and the told us that was the house of Maria or Jozef, etc, but is is not real I think. If you want to see real things go to Jerusalem: Western Wall, Western Wall Tunnel, City of David, Siloam, Bethesda. Massada.
This is a very long day. I would have enjoyed it more if it were more efficiently delivered time wise. Nazareth was a church visit and a long gift shop visit. I had no feel for the actual city itself. The visit to Jordan was too long if you are not interested in the baptism. It too is a large gift shop. We basically drove through Tiberias.
Ayal was a phenomenal guide! He was a walking wikipedia and kept us enthralled with his knowledge of the history around us. The tour was interesting and we learnt so much. Being in a smaller bus also made for a more intimate experience.
Our guide Norbert Nakache was very enthusiastic and very eager to share his knowledge. It was an inspiring day with a lot of learnings... The tour was dense and well organized - I couldn't have hoped for something better.
