Affordable way to experience the sea and islands around Santorini

This trip was very well organized. It is affordable because there are about 75 people on each boat. But they've got handling this number of passengers down. Taking this cruise is a nice way to see Santorini from the sea. You will be hiking rocky paths so make sure to wear tennis shoes, not sandals. You'll have an opportunity to buy lunch on Therasia. There are several restaurants at the port and there are also 2 restaurants at the top of Therasia. The hike up Therasia is strenuous but the view from the top is definitely worth it. The only suggestion for improvement I'd make is in the music played while sailing back to the port on Santorini. Not sure why they couldn't play the original versions of the songs they were playing (e.g. Bob Marley) instead of elevator music versions. Also the lyrics for one of the songs was not something I'd want my kids to listen to (e.g. killing girlfriend in bed). Music artist suggestions: Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Temptations, Beach Boys, etc.

A great experience although organisation could be improved.

The Volcanic Island tour was a great experience and good value for money. Drinks etc on board were well priced and all the staff were very friendly. The only thing that let the tour down a little was the organisation. Collection in the morning was delayed by about 20 minutes (although somewhat par for the course in Greece) and when dropped off at the dock, we were all left just milling around with no guidance until the tour guide appeared about 20 minutes later. Throughout the day the tour guide and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the tour itself was well worth it. Unfortunately, on returning to the dock the organisation of the return transportation was again somewhat chaotic. On looking around at other tour groups, this didn’t seem out of the ordinary. When we returned to Oia, the bus just dropped us off at the transport offices. No problem for us as we were staying in Oia, but a little confusing for those who had decided to extend their tour into town!

Old pirate ship, great staff, 10/10 experience

I booked this excursion for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was our favorite experience from our trip to santorini. They send you an address for pickup, but it can be a bit confusing, so ask the locals if you can’t figure it out and they will direct you. Once aboard, you sail to a volcano, 2 swimming spots, and watch the sunset while you eat before returning home. - The boat can be quite windy/shaky so hold on to your hats/drinks. - The volcano hike is a bit strenuous and takes about an hour in total. - The swim is amazing and you must do it. - The sunset is a must-see from the water. - Food is okay and there are plenty of drinks on board. - BONUS: the staff is SO friendly and amazing (speaking 5 languages). They teach you traditional Greek dancing to round out your trip. [13:30-21:00 from pickup to drop off; 6 hours on the boat but it doesn’t feel too long] 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Santorini Volcano and Thirassia Sunset Dinner Cruise Reviewed by

A great way to see the volcano and Santorini from another side.

The volcanic island is really interesting and our guide was able to tell a lot of nice details. I could have spent some more time there. Swimming to the hot springs was less special than I had expected, but still a nice experience. At Thirassia island the crew recommends to stay at the harbour and spend all your time (read: money) at their partner restaurant for lunch. I'm happy that I did walk up to the village. The view is worth the climb (if you're reasonably fit) and the panorama restaurant is a friendly place. Unfortunately the pick-up and return service was kind of a mess, I only got the time and location details the night before. On the way back, finding our coach was messy too and the driver made a weird detour.

Great day tour for you and your friends!

If you have limited time/ budget in Santorini and want to explore the other parts of the island this is the tour for you. Volcanoes, hot springs (they provide noodles so go ahead and swim!), Thirasia (not much here but great stop for lunch and relax), then Oia (I say this area is overrated or just overpriced but go ahead and take your pics and see the sunset if you can - it may be too foggy to see; the cheaper areas to eat are just outside of the main entrance). Overall I had a fun experience and left Santorini satisfied. The guides were nice and knowledgeable and the staff even drove my friend and I to the airport free of charge.
