We had some issues finding the bus in the bus station. You’d think it would be easy with Jack The Ripper plastered on the side but it was hard to see with all other buses around. There were no directions or signage in the bus station to tell you which dock to go to. By the time we found it the bus was driving out of the station. The bus driver was kind enough to let us on when we approached it at a pedestrian crossing as it was leaving. Our guide was clearly very interested and well educated on the topic of Jack the Ripper. He was very friendly, approachable and engaging throughout the evening. He made the whole tour very enjoyable. We were all very disappointed to find the Sherlock Holmes pub closed by the time we arrived but that seemed to have nothing to do with the tour. According to signage the pub itself was closed to the public and only available for private events. The tour should take this into account for the future.
How do you make the topic of Murder fun? Trust me our guide did just that. I will be honest, this is not a tour for the small kiddos. She was graphic about what took place in her telling of the events. But my 15 year old daughter enjoyed it. This was a great way tour for those that are hard core fans or just have the pop culture knowledge of Jack the Ripper. The open bus was a great way to get a look at some of London's top sites. There is a good part of walking. The bus does not have bathrooms, so plan ahead. One of the best things we did in London by far. Tour ends near the Sherlock Holmes Pub. Good for a quick drink after. Other nearby restaurants are open for a late night dinner. Our tour guide did point us in the right direction. The meeting spot of the tour is in an inner court of the bus station. It took me a bit to noodle that one. Read the confirmation info. It is clear.
Great day viewing Graffiti around London. Our guide Gabriel was really fun and informative with interesting facts on the artist and their work. Saw pieces by well known graffiti artists such as Banksy, Stik and Shepherd Fairey and others such as Jimmy C and Jim Vision. There were also some artist that I was not as familiar with but it was great to see more work! The tour was really well paced and the Eat part of the tour was also great as we got to visit the very busy Beigel Bake and taste traditional beigels, really adding to our experience!
I had an amazing time on this tour. Starting off with a brief introduction and history lesson on Shoreditch. Along the way we learned about all different types of street art from brass sculptures to foam mushrooms to stencils. I'd highly recommend doing this tour for anyone who has even the slightest interest in street art. I wish I had of continued on and taken part in the stencil workshop!
The tour was awesome, funny / a little bit crazy (in a good way) guide & scary Jack the Ripper experience with loads of information and pictures from the different victims and crime scenes. I would definitely recommend the tour to everyone who seeks a little little adrenalin kick and a guide with a trace of black humor.
