Full description
After pick-up in the morning, drive to Jaffa Gate, the entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City. Learn about the background of each of its four quarters. First, pass the remains of the Roman Cardo in the ancient heart of the city, followed by the historic monument of the Hurva Synagogue. Ascend to a viewpoint for a panorama of some of the world’s most important religious sites. Overlook Temple Mount, the Dome of the Rock, Al Aqsa Mosque, and the famous Mount of Olives in the background, as you immerse deeper into the complex history of this multifaceted city. From here, head onwards to the thousands of years old Western Wall, walk along the Via Dolorosa, and pay a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, before discovering the exotic smells and treasures of the vibrant Old City Bazaar. Your last stop of the day is the modern heart of Jerusalem around Mahane Yehuda market, where you can grab lunch. One of the most traditional and yet most innovative places in Jerusalem, its angled lanes are filled with fruit and vegetable vendors, specialty stores, clothing stands, oriental smells and tastes, frequented by locals and visitors alike. Head about the market’s rich history, from neglected backwater to today’s hip status, before you drive back to Tel Aviv in the afternoon.

This tour was exactly what we needed! As we only had a day to see Jerusalem, the tour gave us a great flavour of the incredible culture, history and uniqueness of Jerusalem. I just wish we had more time to spend in Jerusalem, a few days at least is needed to properly appreciate it!

Excellent tour

Looking for a day trip from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, it was slim pickings on ones with good reviews. Others do multiple pick ups, takes 3 hours to arrive and has you in Jerusalem during the busiest period of the day. We were one of the first groups in early (the central pick up point means you get to Jerusalem way quicker) and they don’t waste time trying to take you to stores to buy trinkets with kick backs like so many others complain of. When you leave the old town around 1pm, everyone else is just getting into the swing of things and it is packed. Chris was an informative and courteous guide, and feel very lucky to stumble across this gem.
