Rio de Janeiro is a city that's definitely not lacking in sights. How about a trek or a cable car ride up Sugarloaf Mountain to get an eyeful? Here are some of the best things you can see.
Christ the Redeemer is considered the guardian of the city and the perfect view is from Sugarloaf. If you want to stand at Christ's feet, go up Corcovado Mountain.
Visible from the top of Urca Hill, Sugarloaf's little sister, Guanabara Bay is a stunning expanse of blue.
A panoramic and unbelievable view of Rio's Copacabana beach awaits you at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Rio's biggest park is an expanse of emerald if you look for it from on top of Sugarloaf. Back down on earth, you can check out its Olympic Park and the Museum of Modern Art.
Summer can reach extremely hot temperatures, so autumn is probably a comfortable hiking temperature.
8:00AM to 7:45PM - if you're planning to go there late, try not to make it after 7:00PM.
Good walking boots and plenty of sunscreen.
Carlos Fernando (I think that is his name) was the most amazing tour guide. He was extremely polite, caring, and super knowledgeable about the sites, landmarks, and history of Rio and Brazil. He was very careful to always make sure the group was together - always counting the number of people in our group to ensure no one was missing. His ability to speak multiple languages (and VERY WELL) was a huge factor in making the tour a success for me. Carlos Fernando is the best of the best!!
This was absolutely wonderful, the guide ‘Marcelo’ is extremely friendly and welcoming, getting to the meeting point was easy, the boat was well equipped and had the most amazing staff. the drinks, the views, the pictures were all perfect to a point. I highly recommend this for anyone who’s in Rio de Janeiro! A truly unforgettable experience.
A very well-run day and a great introduction to Rio. We managed to see everything we wanted, despite having to adapt the schedule due to cloudy weather in the morning. The guide Renato was very friendly and interesting, with perfect English and Portuguese. The lunch was fantastic at an authentic steakhouse next to Copacabana!
The tour was very well organized, the pickup was on time and the tour guide toke the time to explain the day. We had at all the stops enough time to view and make pictures. The lunch was excellent in a typical brazilian restaurant. I would recommend this tour.
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The transportation (bus) was super comfy with air conditioner and I felt safe with the driving. Must do!
