Full description
After being picked up from Bath, set off for Salisbury where you can discover a delightful array of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Marvel at Salisbury Cathedral which boasts Britain’s tallest spire and the world’s oldest working clock. The city is also home to the finest of 4 original 1215 Magna Carta manuscripts, housed within the 13th century Chapter House, at the heart of a permanent interactive exhibition. Other treasures include the National Trust’s Mompesson House, The Salisbury Museum, Arundells (home of former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath), The Rifles Berkshire & Wiltshire Museum, and Sarum College.

Then, continue the tour to Stonehenge and step back in time as you enter this famous prehistoric site. Built more than 5,000 years ago, this ancient Neolithic monument continues to inspire mystery and awe today. Walk in the footsteps of your Neolithic ancestors and explore the world-class exhibition, visitor center, and cafe.

After this, the tour weaves its way through the Cotswolds. First stop in Lacock, a wonderful village consisting of properties which date from the 13th and 18th centuries. Find out how this village was once a prosperous woolen town but now it seems like a village trapped in time. There has been no major building here in the last 200 years so you really feel as if you’re stepping back into English history. Next, pay a visit to Biddestone, which is most people’s idea of the English country village. In the center, the delightful stone-built and tiled 18th-century cottages and houses with walled gardens surround a large village green and duck pond. Just off the center is a beautiful 12th-century Norman Church. Hear about how the original settlement dates from Saxon times, though most buildings are from the late 18th-century.

Finally, explore Castle Combe which was once a weaving town at the heart of the Cotswolds wool trade and described as the prettiest village in England. The village has featured in films such as War Horse and was the fictional Puddleby-on-the Marsh in Dr. Dolittle - the 1960's film with Rex Harrison. The village is built around the 14th-century Market Cross with the old water pump beside it. Benefit from return transfer to Bath where your tour ends.
