Full description
With your guide, discover the main building in the history of northern capital. You will find out the details of its construction and history. Because of the cultural and historical background, Saint Isaac's Cathedral is no doubt a must visit in Saint-Petersburg, and in Russia in general.
St. Isaac Cathedral can host over 14,000 people in its walls and has a height of 102 meters. On the rooftop of the cathedral, you can see a unique and breathtaking panoramic view of the city. St. Isaac Cathedral was built over 40 years during the reign of three emperors, Alexander I, Nicolas I, and Alexander II. This cathedral had been a center of religion in Saint-Petersburg up until 1917. The grand opening of the third biggest cathedral in the world was held in 1858. For that time, the construction of such a giant cathedral was an architectural wonder and the cathedral is still recognized as a major monument in Russia.
