Full description
The Kaštela wine region is rich in indigenous grape varieties and some of Croatia's finest wines are cultivated there. On this tour you will visit Kaštela, birth place of Crljenak kaštelanski, an old, almost forgotten, Croatian grape variety which recently captured the interest of the wine-making public. The reason for this was it was discovered that Crljenak Kaštelanski and American Zinfandel have the same genetic profile, it was established that the two species are the same.

Kaštela is known as a place of rich culinary traditions, with an emphasis on the Mediterranean diet; lots of fish, vegetables, fruit/cakes, and meat dishes are of Kaštela tradition.

The tour's wine tasting takes place in a family owned winery in Kaštel Sućurac. With Zinfandel, you will have a unique opportunity to taste some wines made from grape varieties which are possible to find exclusively in Kaštela.
