Full description
Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders of Europe. On 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. Plitvice Lakes were internationally recognized on 26 October 1979 with their incorporation onto the UNESCO World Heritage List. For all those things it is often an irresistible destination for tourists from all around the world.

Your tour starts at 7:30 AM and will 12-hours. You will meet up in Split and be greeted by your English-speaking guide and then board your transportation or the day. While driving you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful Croatian panorama as you drive towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Once there and with a ticket in your hand our guide will explain the details. You will be given a map of the park and precisely explained the itinerary. You will have 5 hours of free time that you can use exploring sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water and hypnotic cascades, touring 7 different routes, hiking 4 different hiking trails or just lounging in the shade.

Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss., tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is going on today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are being built and the existing ones are changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found. After touring you can also catch a boat or train ride. Around 5:00 PM you will head back to Split and arrive around 8:00 PM
