Lovely trip to the Krka Waterfalls - lots of free time to swim here or to relax on the nearby river bank. The park was pretty busy with tourists but did not detract from the experience (you just have to be mindful of where you’re putting your bags or valuables if you’re going in for a swim). Great communication from tour operator before the excursion and during. Only criticism would be the title of the excursion as it suggests a ‘tour’ of skradin as well. Felt this was misrepresentative of the tour as we didn’t leave the bus to explore Skradin (and to be fair it was a very small place), we simply drive through it and heard a bit of the history. As such, felt we were paying for just the bus ride to the national park (as entrance fees were also not included). It’s possible if you’re just looking at transport to the waterfalls you may be able to get this slightly cheaper elsewhere.
We always consider ourselves extremely lucky to come across a guide that knows his stuff and is more than happy to share his secrets. We found that guide and that trip with Robert on this 3 island tour. Robert was hilariously funny and really appealed to our sense of humor. He is an incredibly experienced boat man and seemed to maneuver the boat in such a way that minimized the jarring when conditions are rough. We loved the sites that we visited and felt that the trip was made for us to enjoy, not just the guide to go through the motions. Lunch was nothing short of fantasist, with the freshest of seafood at a great restaurant by the clear blue waters. We could not recommend this trip highly enough.
I was in Plitvice in Aug 2016 and could not enter : too many people, traffic Jam, queue for tickets : I abandoned really disappointed. This time : no queue , all smooth : great , except the bus inside did not have air conditioning. You should do this in all of your country !!! Your country became a mass destination and the quality is declining rapidly because your infrastructure (airport, transportation , hotels and general capacity) is not able to absorb this mass of people. What you did for Plitvice should be done anywhere else in your so nice country.
Me and my fiancee were picked up from our hotel as promised. The ride was very unique and thrilling. Tino was an excellent driver (who drove like crazy), knew everything about the island and just generally an awesome guy. Trip's highlights were the olive oil museum, seeing the whole island from the top of the mountain (Vidova Gora), the beach at Zlatni Rat and eating a delicious lunch at an authentic and cozy Mediterranean farm house. Definitely worth participating!
A long day out (12+ hours). The Plitvice Lakes were fabulous albeit rather crowded. We stopped at a service station and a village on the way to the lakes and then felt a bit rushed at the lakes and very rushed when we transferred buses for the final journey to Split so would rather have skipped one of those stops. Our guide, Marinko was very good, particularly handling a largish group (27) of people of very mixed abilities.
