Full description
Visit a cork traditional eco-cork factory, where you will learn more about the processes involved in selecting, preparing, and packing cork. The cork tree its a noble tree with very special characteristics that grows in Mediterranean, most particularly in Portugal. There you will discover more than 720,000 hectares of cork forests, as well as a cork industry of considerable economic importance.

It is an astonishing tree, very long-lived and with an enormous capacity for regeneration. It can live on average 150 to 200 years, despite its bark being stripped around 16 times during its lifetime at 9-year intervals.

Whilst at the factory you can visit the cork shop, and will also be welcome to join a cork bag workshop throughout which you will learn how to produce an original cork bag.
