Top things to do in Singapore

Despite its relatively small size, the island of Singapore is jam-packed with attractions and activities. Whatever your preference, the choice is truly overwhelming, so here's a selection of the city's highlights to help you make the most of your visit.

Universal Studios Singapore

Even the most seasoned theme park afficionado will be amazed by Singapore's Universal Studios. Make sure to get the priority pass to enjoy every one of the park's numerous rides.

Jurong Bird Park

This world-famous bird park fully deserves its stellar reputation. The breathtaking aviaries are spread over 50 acres, housing an absolutely mindboggling variety of bird species.

Telok Ayer Market

The historic former market is now primarily a food center. An architectural marvel, it's a great place to taste a wide variety of cheap food options in a picturesque environment.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Singapore's Botanic Gardens stretch over 183 acres and are simply spectacular, featuring perfectly kept trees, plants and flowers of all kinds. Incredibly, entry is free of charge.

Underwater World

This wonderful aquarium is home to over 2,500 underwater creatures. Top amongst its highlights is the 83-meter-long tunnel, allowing guests to see the marine spectacle from below.

Night Safari

One of the city's most popular attractions, the Night Safari is a night-time zoo, offering visitors the extraordinary opportunity of witnessing the life of nocturnal creatures.

Singapore Flyer

With a height of 165 meters, the Singapore Flyer is the world's second largest ferris wheel. Jump aboard one of its capsules and take in the glorious views from the top.

Singapore Zoo

This zoo deservedly ranks amongst the best in the world. The animals are kept in stunning enclosures resembling their natural habitat—even the polar bears are made to feel at home!

Planning Your Singapore Visit

Eat like the locals

Amongst Singapore's many highlights, food ranks very highly. However, the best meals are not necessarily found in the many restaurants, but out on the streets, where the local population eats. Visit any of the city's numerous hawker centers and take your pick from one of the many stalls offering cuisine from all over Asia. Not only will the food be delicious, but you won't believe how little it costs!

Proper etiquette

Singapore boasts a large variety of cultures, many of which have specific and sometimes strict social customs. While a certain level of ignorance is tolerated in tourists, if you're invited to dinner or to someone's house, it's good to inform yourself about proper cultural etiquette in order to avoid offending your hosts.

Bring a sweater

Though Singapore's weather is hot all year around, the air-conditioning is kept at very high levels indoors. It's a good idea to carry a sweater with you, as visitors unaccustomed to the air-conditioning can easily catch a cold from the frequent temperature jumps.

A big thank you to guide Joshua for making our journey so fun. A free video was edited and sent to me as a token of appreciation. Really wonderful day, visited to Gardens by the bay, Marina Bay Sands, Esplanade, ArtScience Museum, and many more popular tourist attraction points. I would surely recommend to my friends and family who are going to Singapore. Good job, guys, keep it up.

Elisa was the best guide we have ever had and was so knowledgeable.

I would highly recommend Elisa for anyone wanting to get a great inside view of Singapore. We rode the subway, took a bus and ate in the government housing area market.

Informative and interesting. Recommended

An extremely informative and interesting tour conducted by the lovely Helena. Her depth of knowledge is exceptional and she was so easy to talk to. The tour of the tailors house was so interesting and opened my eyes to how hard it would have been living and working in that period. We enjoyed the special morning tea which was a welcome break from the heat. It was at a good pace, not to fast for an older person.

Very reliable, comfortable transfer back to Changi

I highly recommend the service!!! It is definitely worth the value, and all you need to do is to pre book the service for the driver to pick you up on time. It was the easiest half an hour transfer back to Changi.
