Top attractions in Siem Reap
This beautiful resort town is the perfect place to visit when in Cambodia, and a great place to stay when touring local Buddhist monuments. There's so much to see and do, but here are our top tips!
This interesting (and slightly bizarre) theme park assembles miniatures of famous historical buildings and structures of Cambodia, grouped into 11 villages.
One of many great Buddhist temples in the region, this artificial island is one of the more breathtaking!
This little (well not so little) oasis is a reservoir built by 10th Century Buddhists and is a tranquil tourist spot.
One of the most interesting and larger Buddhist monastic complexes in the region!
A magical place to visit, this largely unrestored temple is a mixture of beautiful architecture, now being reclaimed by the jungle around it.
One of the region's Hindu temples and a world heritage site.
Although slightly out of the way, when touring the temples of the region, this is one you don't want to miss.
One of the more impressive and larger temple complexes in the area, and a popular spot for some Hollywood blockbusters.
Another beautifully decorated and monumental temple in the region.
This is the largest religious monument in the world, and well worth taking a tour of.
You can visit Siem Reap all year round, however, make sure to look at the climate statistics before you go and while you are there and plan your days accordingly! The weather is tropical and variable. As a rule of thumb, the weather is driest from November to March, so if you want to avoid tropical rain, then this is perhaps the best time to book your trip!
Most tourists go to the region to visit the local temples. You can purchase different types of temple passes. However, a three day pass, and three nights in Siem Reap will be enough to fufill any temple-goers!

What people are saying about Siem Reap
Our guide Chai was very professional and patient - plus he is an awesome photographer! The trip was well organised right from the 5am pickup till we got back to our hotel around midday. We got to learn a lot around the history of Angkor Wat. We especially enjoyed the fact that we spent more time in the not so crowded areas of the temples which made for great photos.
We had the sunrise tour and it was the greatest experience ever. Mr Bun was our tour guide along with Mr Neal. Perfect English, was very informative and polite. This is a must do tour and you will be surely breathless at the sights. Perfect way to start our holiday in Cambodia!
Our Tourist guide Phi is very informative and he knows the best places and tricks to take photos..
I was worried about the early morning start but I awoke on time and the pickup was on time too. Sunrise was not so good due to clouds but the rest of the tour was as expected. The bus was in excellent condition. The group was about 10 people. Towel and water were offered. The guides English was quite OK and explanations were adequate. The temples are amazing of course. A breakfast was included at a rather pleasant restaurant. Very pleasant views and excellent food... Far better than at my lodging... Too much for me to eat. Thanks a lot
Thank you for a fantastic experience!! We enjoyed every second of this adventure - particularly because of our wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide Seng Dalign. He made the whole group smile from start to finish. He made the trip as interesting as possible and also played the part time photographer and bag carrier! He knew all the best places for the perfect photo shot. We appreciated Daligns efforts as without him I don't think the experience of learning about the history of Angkor Wat would have been the same.
