What people are saying about Sforza Castle
The tour guide on this trip was excellent and very knowledgeable with a good sense of humour. The headsets used by the guide were very clear and good quality. The Last supper is a must see if you are visiting Milan and you really need to book ahead because places fill up fast. Having a guide is probably the best way of seeing this painting as you only have a 15 minute slot and they tell you about all the little details in the picture that you would not notice. The Duomo is also really impressive and worth a visit inside. It is also worth going to the rooftops, although this is not included on this tour. Make sure when going to these sites that you do not take any liquids with you as they will not let you in to see the last supper with them. Even water is not allowed although there are lockers at the last supper to put things into. This is not possible at the Duomo though, although they do allow in water no other liquids like sun cream, sprays etc. are allowed.
Valeria was a very knowledgeable guide and very patient working with a large group of people with a variety of questions and needs. This is a great way to get last-minute tickets to view The Last Supper, which was fascinating to see in the context of the monastery’s history. The headset was amazing and worked very well, eliminating the need to gather closely around the guide and strain to hear what she is saying. She gave constant commentary as we walked, making use of all of the time we had.
Our guide was really good. The tour was very informative and our guide was friendly and funny. However, the tour we did was in both English and German and I felt like that was too much for the guide plus made the tour too long. It means that for half the time, you’re listening to information in a language you don’t understand. If I had the option, I would book this same tour but in a single language.
We had only a day in Milan and this was the most fantastic way to see the city - and obviously the Last supper. Guide was very knowledgeable and gave out little snippets of info on diverse subjects making the whole experience less of a tour and more a personal experience. Be warned though there is a lot of walking involved but it is well worth the effort.
Enjoyed the tour. Our guide's English was better than many native Americans, and his knowledge of Milan history was great. He had an answer to everything. I wished we could have walked faster, but I understand the pace had to be slow for the older participants.
