Full description
The tour departs from Edinburgh and heads on to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and then to Luss for a short stop. Then, it's over to Inveraray and its fairytale castle. There will be short stop in Oban where you will have time to visit the distillery or climb to McCaig’s Tower overlooking the bay. Afterwards, you'll get on the ferry to Mull and head to your home for the next 2 nights in Tobermory.

On day 2, the tour will drive the length of the island to the small port of Fionnphort for the foot passenger ferry to Iona. There will be time to visit Iona Abbey and Nunnery, founded by St. Columba in 563. As you return to Mull, you may get the chance to see some wildlife such as seals, otters and, if you are really lucky, sea eagles.

Day 3 is back to the mainland and the remote Ardgour Peninsula through Glen Geal and lochs Sunart and Linnhe. There will be a short ferry crossing at Corran and into Glen Coe. Hear stories of the massacre which took place in 1692 and learn about the local area. Stopping in Glen Coe, you will join another group of travellers and then head on to Fort William, nestled under Ben Nevis. As the road nears Skye, you'll have the opportunity to take some photographs of Eilean Donan Castle before arriving at Skye for your overnight stay.

The Isle of Skye, The Cuillin Mountains, Old Man of Storr, and Kilt Rock are just some of the highlights of Day 4. Spend a little time in Portree exploring the pretty harbour and perhaps a delicious lunch of fish and chips, but just watch out for the seagulls. You will again be staying in Skye.

On day 5 you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a visit to Urquhart Castle and take a cruise on Loch Ness. Head through Inverness, capital of the Highlands, and on to Culloden Battlefield, where the last stand of the Jacobite Army took place. Pass through the Cairngorms, then back to Edinburgh via Glasgow.
