What people are saying about Santiago de Compostela
The guide was a local, spoke very good english, easy to understand, and shared local traditions. Sites were beautiful, but there was limited time to wander in some of them. This is not a good tour for people in their 20's and 30's or who like any kind of adventure, it was basically a bus trip where they talk at you. At the first stop, we took pictures at a safe scenic spot on the rocks, but the guide was hyper-sensetive about safety, and she ridiculed/admonished us in front of the entire bus, and repeated this in spanish and italian. She sucked the fun out of the day, but was great for a standard info-only kind of tour, and otherwise nice.
After an earlier tour (Rias Baixas) we had hoped to get more information during the tour. This tour was light on information about the area. Particularly, we had only one mention of the Costa del Morte at the beginning of the day and no further mention despite the fact that we drove along this coast. There was a lot of free time given in Finisterre with no direction so we spent our time after lunch wandering aimlessly. That said, the tour route was spectacular and the guide and driver extremely pleasant. It was more a driving tour than a cultural tour.
Best way to see the iconic Coast of Death (Finisterra, Ezaro, Muxia, Mores, Ponte Maceiro) when you just have a day in hand. While Daniel skilfully drove us through the narrow lanes, our guide Sonia gave us a brief history of everything and made the journey extremely informative and enjoyable. Even though it was a full day excursion, we did not feel tired as the stops were planned well with enough time to see the various places and rest if one wanted. Daniel and Sonia took care of of the passengers comfort in all aspects. Highly recommend this tour.
A good mix of information given out; historic, contemporary, rural, agricultural, environmental. A good Spanish & English speaking guide. Well paced to show the various sites as well as a long enough time for the lunch stop. An excellent spot to visit, with the wild Atlantic Ocean as a back drop, with beautiful rural Galicia being interpreted as we went along.
This trip was extremely easy to book and was exactly as the reviews described. Sonia did a great job in English and kept things on track all day. We had great views of the coast and other beautiful areas from the bus.
