Full description
Get more time in the Vatican’s awe-inspiring art with no-wait access to the museums and basilica.

With a group of 20 people or fewer, your expert guide will bring the art and history to life in the Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and more.

Avoid the long public line and go straight to the front of the Vatican Museums. Learn about the history and people behind the art in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Hall of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Gallery of Candelabra. A headset ensures you can hear the guide clearly.

Next, visit and hear the story of the magnificent Sistine Chapel. See if you can spot Michelangelo’s self-portrait, which hints that he would rather be skinned alive than paint in the Sistine Chapel again. (After you learn what it took to create a fresco, you’ll understand why.)

Then, use another exclusive entrance to head straight into St. Peter’s Basilica. See the incredible altar and Michelangelo’s beautiful sculpture, “La Pietà.”

The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square. Admire Bernini’s clever optical illusion, spot the balcony where the Pope delivers his public addresses, and take photos of the imposing exterior of the basilica.

This was our 2nd tour booked with this Company and it was fantastic, everything went so smoothly. Our guide, I apologise I have forgotten her name - remembered everybody’s name and where they had travelled from. The information she passed on was fantastic, she didn’t rush- infact our tour went over the 2 hours. Answered all questions that were asked and as the weather was so good advised us to go to the top of St Peter’s Dome. The views are definitely worth climbing the 551 steps!

This was our first visit to Rome and we thought a guided tour would be useful after trying to navigate the Louvre in Paris without one. Georgia was excellent providing non stop commentary and taking questions. The down side to any tour is that you cannot linger in places where you would like to stay longer, but that is far outweighed by having someone knowledgable to guide you, plus you can always go back :) We would highly recommend the tour and then climb up the dome after for a lovely view of Rome. Note that if you take the elevator, you still have 300 steps to climb. If you don't, 500 steps. We paid the extra 2 euro and took the elevator!

We had booked the Vatican Tour and it will be an unforgettable moment of our stay in Rome. Getyourguide met our expectations perfectly. Follow-up of the reservation, reception at the meeting point and most importantly our guide BIANCA archaeologist by training who spoke French perfectly makes us share his passion through his explanations on the Vatican. Recommend without problem.
