Hear about the great feats of the gladiators and their battles with wild animals. Marvel at the technological advancements of the Roman engineers to build the Colosseum. Learn about the trapdoors and all the mechanisms used to animate the games.

Your guide will entertain you with tales of sea-battles and tell you about the cages where the lions were kept. Imagine the roar of the crowd as their blood-lust was met. Continue to the 2nd tiers for the best views of the Colosseum, inside and out.

Next, go to Palatine Hill to see where the elite emperors took residence. Admire the views of the Circus Maximus on one side and the Roman Forum on the other. We were “late”, as the ticket says be there 30 minutes prior to the indicated time (in small font in the very end). So, our tour was rescheduled which worked out just fine. We had two guides. The first one did not interact, just talked like a recording. The second one, Zenda, was wonderful.

Me and my friend pre-booked this tour before arriving at Rome. We had a tour guide called George, he was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and had a sense of humour. I would recommend this tour as you get to learn so much that you wouldn’t get to know if you just went on your own. The tour left on time and allowed you time to take in the views. If you like to know what you are looking at and want an enjoyable experience I would recommend this tour. Thank you George for being a great tour guide!

Zelna was truly the most amazing guide we had in Rome. She explained us every aspect of the Colosseum, without any boring details. She made the tour seem like we were part of a story that was written in front of our eyes. I loved the stories about the games that took place in the Colosseum and also I was impressed by the meaning this building had for the people. The Palatine Hill tour was also fantastic as Zelna told us every step of the way what was there so much time ago and what was its meaning.
