Full description
Join this 2-hour evening walking tour to explore 2 of Rome’s most interesting neighborhoods. Starting at Piazza Trilussa in Trastevere, Rome’s oldest area, you will walk with an expert guide who will uncover this most authentic of Italian neighborhoods.

A popular hangout among locals, the streets are full of lively bars and authentic tratorria, attracting patrons of all ages.

You will walk to Piazza Santa Maria to take in the cultural scene. Dominated by a lovely octagonal fountain and the beautiful hand-painted church of Santa Maria, you will hear how Trastevere developed on the banks of the Tiber and learn about the fight for its control between the Etruscans and the Romans.

Cross over to the only island in the city, Isola Tiberina, location for the famous Fatebenefratelli Hospital and a few lucky residents.

Finally you will wander over to Rome’s Jewish Ghetto. Rome's Jews are Europe's longest surviving Jewish community and have been living in the city since the 3rd-Century BCE. Your guide will take you on a fascinating journey through the history of the Jewish community from its origins to the modern day.

You will stop and admire the façade of the monumental Synagogue and continue to the Portico of Octavia and the grand Theater of Marcellus, where your passionate guide will bring medieval Jewish culture to life.

As the tour ends, you will get recommendations on selected local restaurants to continue your evening’s dinner arrangements.
