Full description
Enter the Capitoline Museums on Capitoline Hill, and journey back in time to the days of Ancient Rome.

Located on the beautiful Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1536, the Capitoline Museums is housed in the Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo. Go through the main entrance in the Palazzo dei Conservatori and see the staircase with its impressive relief from the honorary monument to Marcus Aurelius.

Marvel at sculptures from the Pinacoteca Capitolina, such as the symbolic Lupa Capitolina (Romulus and Remus feeding from the she-wolf). See an original version of the equestrian statue from the Piazza del Campidoglio, along with the Spinario (Boy with Thorn) and masterpieces such as the Sala Pietro de Cortona, Sala Santa Petronella and multiple works by Caravaggio.
