What people are saying about Rome

Lovely, family atmosphere and quiet, nice guidance, thank you!

Beautiful, you are not in the river crowd that you can taste right after the end of the 1st entry mission. It is interesting to try both, but normal entry is crazy, it´s impossible to escape... I regretted the little children and lilipines because you do not see from the waist up, just the ceiling... The Sistine Chapel is beautiful and also the Athens School by Rafael. We were surprised that there is a possibility of refreshment inside the museums, which is even cheaper than the restaurant behind the Vatican walls. Toilets and everything you need to visit is provided. The Vatican post office inside the museum is also amazing. It was very nice to get up very early and see the entrance to the Vatican Museums without a crowd of tourists. Thanks!

Great - 2nd group to enter the Sistine Chapel

As expected, got to enter the Sistine Chapel early. The initial group during the check-in is quite big and everyone will be split into smaller groups. Make sure to be one of the first few people in the line so you get into the first group. Tour was fast - our guide Marco explained as much as he could during the walk to the Sistine Chapel. After the Sistine Chapel, I suggest you stick around and follow another tour group to the St Peter's basilica by turning right instead of left to exit. You will have to wait a while but it's worth it having to skip the entrance line to the basilica. No tour of the entire Vatican museum so if that's what you're interested in, this is not for you.

Very informative but sound cuts out in stairways and hallways

The tour was very informative and our guide spoke the entire time- also when going through stairways and hallways between the many rooms and as the connection was poor in those places we missed a lot of information every time we changed rooms. He spoke so much that it was hard to ask him to slow down or repeat things we had not heard. But we enjoyed the tour and would definitely do it again. I am not sure why we were told to be at the meeting point 25 minutes ahead of time - no one was waiting for us at that time and the whole group ending up waiting a few minutes after the start time for two people who were late.

This is the way to visit the Sistine Chapel

We were the first people into the Sistine Chapel on the day we visited. Within 15 minutes it was busy, but by then we'd had time to soak it up without the crowd. We were leaving St Peter's Basilica before 10am to wander round other parts of Rome, passing long queues waiting to go in. This is not an easy option and it's not cheap, but it is well worth doing.

Fascinating visit, made very memorable with Elizabeth as our guide.!

We thoroughly enjoyed our personal guided tour of Galleria Borghese. As an option you can enjoy the gallery as a self guided tour, however, our personal guide, Elizabeth, not only provided historical detail but also explained from her personal knowledge (she’s born and raised in Rome) and her academic background in archeology. Highly recommended!!
