What people are saying about Rome

Great option to avoid lengthy admission queues.

Once we found the meeting place and our guide everything was well organised and, other than the queue for security checks which cannot be avoided or skipped, entry was quite quick. The length of time we had inside the Colosseum was enough to see everything and take it all in at a reasonable pace. This was followed by guided entry to Palentine Hill/Forum which, again, was quick and easy. I would definitely book again through this company for other tours/events.

Rome: Colosseum Skip-the-Line Self-Guided Tour Reviewed by Judith, 10/06/2019

Informative and entertaining with a personal touch.

We added the guided option at the last minute when visiting the Colosseum and were very pleased to chosen to do so. We gained a much more informative insight about the building, it's construction and it's place in history from a knowledgeable entertaining guide who clearly enjoyed his work. He took time to answer questions, ensure all were catered for and his repeated reference to the group as 'family' added àn air of amusement.

Both guides were really knowledgable and friendly

We had a fantastic tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman forum. Both Julio and Keith were extremely knowledgable, friendly and fun. They kept the group moving and the time flew by. It was easy to find the start of the tour and the organising team were well prepared and very organised. One word of advice is to take some food with you if you are going over lunchtime as there is nowhere to buy food on or near the sites.

Fantastic, skipped the queues and got out of the heat.

Skipping the queue was great, as we got there at 10.30am and the queue was huge. We found it a bit difficult when we first got there trying to find where we had to go to skip the queue, but asked a person who we thought was a tour guide, but he was the person who validated out tickets and in we went, so we walked straight in, which was great, especially with 2 children.

Silvio was wonderful, but Crown Tours was chaotic at best

Silvio gave us a warm, thoughtful, and deep understanding of the Colosseum Tour. However, Crown Tours did not have all of their employees wearing purple and left many of us wondering if we were in the right group. It also was not clear that we would be thrown into a new group after the Colosseum Tour, and there was no clear handing us off to the new leader.
