The Sistine Chapel is located at the far end of the galleries and your guide will ensure that you get there quickly, while seeing the most important masterpieces along the way.
From the Sistine Chapel you’ll have direct access to St. Peter's Basilica, a privilege available on official guided tours only. Your guide will also lead you to the underground level, a rarely seen area of the Vatican where the tombs of the former popes are located.
You’ll then head up into the main area of St. Peter's Basilica, the largest basilica in the world. On this part of the tour see Michelangelo’s Pietà and the famous dome he designed for the Basilica. Note the massive bronze baldacchino or canopy by Bernini, Raphael’s Transfiguration and other monuments of artistic importance.
