Full description
You begin in the Piazza Trilussa, discussing the ancient origins of the neighborhood before heading over to the house of Raphael Sanzio’s mistress, the mysterious ‘Fornarina’. As you stand beneath the window where she might have caught the great artists’ eye, your group will discuss what life here was like hundreds of years ago and the ways it has and hasn’t changed.

Continuing on, your guide will tell you local rumors and legends. You will see beautiful cathedrals and the old haunt of the local alchemists. You will even encounter some very Roman street art in the form of the ‘Madonnelle’.

You pass through the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere which hums with life at any time of day and finish in the Piazza San Callisto. Your guide will leave you with recommendations for where to eat and drink should you want to return to the neighborhood in the evening.
