Our tour guide was amazing, passionate and highly informative about everything and anything we asked about the community we were experiencing in Santa marta. Unfortunately I can't recall his name to give him full credit..but I'm glad this tour was the exactly what I anticipated in terms of it being an insightful tour and not disrespectful to the community we were trying to learn about. There's plenty of opportunity during the trip to get a snack, light refreshment and or relieve yourself if need. The spots along the tour appropriate for taking photos are very good too. I felt very comfortable in the hands of our tour guide and left the tour feeling enriched with understanding of the position of the communities who exist in these mountain side homes.
One of the best tours I have ever been on! The guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. We met him while lost in the favela and he was so helpful and friendly we decided to book the tour a few days later! I can’t recommend this tour enough!! Knowing my money goes toward helping the community, being able to buy local art work/crafts and meeting local people made it a very special experience! Thank you!
Felipe was an amazing host, his passion for the favelas and Santa Marta is inspiring. He brought the favelas story to life. He was well known to the locals of Santa Marta which just made the experience so much better and he was so genuine. I highly highly recommend this tour as it is educational, safe, fun and just an amazing activity to do.
I was lucky enough to have a very knowledgeable, friendly, polite and pleasant guide Raffael. Raffael speaks very clear perfect English. He is extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions in detail. You can tell that he loves what he‘s doing and is an asset to any employer.
Thiago and translator Mauricio are very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions fantastically. Very interesting favela and got to meet local people. Would recommend to anyone coming to Brazil so you can learn about the history and culture and society of Rio.
