What people are saying about Riga

A most interesting tour and a superb guide

I have just e mailed our guide liga this e mail so thought I'd copy you in as our review Just a quick e mail to thank you for a fabulous trip yesterday. You were so full of knowledge and made the trip really interesting. We did go back to the kgb building and did the 4.30 pm trip. The information you gave us in the morning was far better than on the trip. I felt I could have given the guide some information that you had given us as she did not seem very knowledgeable. We took your recommendation in the evening and went to the Folk Club Ala. we nearly didn't go as when we got in the taxi, the driver said "are you sure you want to go there? It is full of youngsters and not very good" ! How wrong was he. Thank goodness we listened to you. It is a fantastic venue. The band was outstanding, the atmosphere was great. There were even lots of people older than us! Even though we weren't bothered about that as we are young at heart anyway. Well I just wanted to say thank you again for an

Fantastic experience, highly recommended!

We had a fantastic day trip into Gauja National Park including a highly informative visit at the Turaida museum reserve. First we had a nice trail hike/walk through the beautiful naturally reserved forest of Gauja National Park, enjoying stunning views into the Gauja Valley and on the well restored medieval castles. Our Guide Rolands was "human encyclopedia", highly knowledgeable and a skilled story teller. We enjoyed this walk so much. After Lunch break with traditional home made Latvian food we went with the Cable Car to Krimula manor house, which comprises in fact very a small village (the area were the Manor and his servants used to live). The village is still inhabited today and thus serves as an "inhabited museum". Finally we visited the Turaida museum reserve, which is a heritage site with a medieval castle, a 1700s wooden church & a park with folk-song sculptures. We also learned about the specifics of a traditional Latvian Sauna, which follows a 500-year old procedure.

Really beautiful Palace with very well planned stops.

We really enjoyed this tour with lots of cultural stops and breathtaking views. The day before the tour we realised we made a mistake and booked a one-way trip when we had thought we booked a round-trip (our mistake!). We called up the company and got it sorted very easily for a small charge. Very well served! We really enjoyed the trip and had a wonderful guide. Would recommend!

Great trip to see the castles and forests of Latvia

Even though it was pouring almost the whole day, we had an excelent experiencia guided by our guide Richards, who gave us a "poncho" and guided us through the different attractions of Sigulda (castles, parks, cave, etc.). He told us a lot of stories and legends about Latvia and he was very patient to answer all our doubts and he also offered to take us a lot of photos.

Less know, but certainly not less interesting side of Riga

This tour is guided by a local that shows you places and buildings that refer to the dark periods of war and sovjetregime in which Latvians suffered. It's a part of history of Riga which was crucial for its present place in the world. We really recommand it. The Sovjectbuffet is not included in the price, instead you got very good advice about local restaurants.
