Fantastic experience, highly recommended!

We had a fantastic day trip into Gauja National Park including a highly informative visit at the Turaida museum reserve. First we had a nice trail hike/walk through the beautiful naturally reserved forest of Gauja National Park, enjoying stunning views into the Gauja Valley and on the well restored medieval castles. Our Guide Rolands was "human encyclopedia", highly knowledgeable and a skilled story teller. We enjoyed this walk so much. After Lunch break with traditional home made Latvian food we went with the Cable Car to Krimula manor house, which comprises in fact very a small village (the area were the Manor and his servants used to live). The village is still inhabited today and thus serves as an "inhabited museum". Finally we visited the Turaida museum reserve, which is a heritage site with a medieval castle, a 1700s wooden church & a park with folk-song sculptures. We also learned about the specifics of a traditional Latvian Sauna, which follows a 500-year old procedure.

This tour is perfectly organized! We enjoyed our day very much! Rolands sent us confirmation email with his car registration number and the meeting point before the tour so that we know exactly where we should meet. He perfectly adjusted the hike according to the snowy weather and assisted us all the way. He answered all our questions about Latvia and we now know more this beautiful country. He introduced us the Latvian Sauna during our hike and we were very interested. Rolands kindly arranged the Sauna for us and we enjoyed the Sauna very much! A superb trip! Highly recommended!

A fantastic tour to one of Latvia's beautiful National Parks

Our guide (Rolands) was perfect and this tour was a brilliant way to get to know Gauja. We hiked through beautiful forests and wooded meadows, with plenty of chances to take photos and admire the view. We had a tasty lunch in Sigulda before visiting the stunning Turaida. The pick- up and journey was easy and the timings perfect. Highly recommend.
