Experience

Highlights
  • Admire Solheimajokull Glacier
  • See Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach and Vik Town
  • Discover Skogafoss Waterfall, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and the South Coast of Iceland
Full description
You will be picked up from a authorized pick-up point in Reykjavik and head towards the east, over Hellisheidi Pass and through the southern lowland to Solheimajokull, an outlet glacier of Myrdalsjokull, Iceland’s 4th largest glacier.

From there, you will head towards Iceland‘s most famous black sand beach, Reynisfjara, where the roaring Atlantic Ocean fiercely hits the shore. Just off the beach, Reynisdrangar basalt stacks majestically rise from the sea. After strolling along the basalt columns and black sands at Reynisfjara, your next stop will be Vik town, the most southern town in Iceland. Here, you will visit the local church.

After exploring Vik, head back to the city. On the way back, you will stop at Skogafoss waterfall and the roughly 65 meter high cascade, and the picturesque Seljalandsfoss, where you will have a chance to walk behind the waterfall. At all sites, you will have enough time to enjoy and make great memories to take back home with you. This tour is a small group experience tour that will take you to some of the most famous attractions along the south coast of the island.

Organization and implementation were very good. We had enough time at all stops to explore them. It is worth spending a bit more money and doing this trip in a small group of 15 people maximum. The tour guide Oly spoke very quietly and indistinctly. It was difficult to understand him, presumably because the technical equipment (headset) was wrong.

Poor organization

Booking takes place at Arctic Adventure, collection by turquoise bus. Obviously shared bus for 2 different trips. Departure or start one hour later, as the driver / guide would have to query the collection points by phone. Guide looked incompetent and uniformed. After driving there to the starting point for the much larger group for glacier hiking, finally the start of our south coast tour. Apart from the black beach, view from the church on Vik and a tourist shop, nothing else happened. Then return and pick up the group "Glacier Hike". Guide was incompetent and uninterested and his driving style was sometimes frightening. All in all tour for the cat and not worth the money. Never again!
