Full description
Go on a three hour walking tour of Reykjavik that introduces you to the city's most iconic landmarks and tasty eats that have been staples of Icelandic cuisine for centuries. Try nine traditional Icelandic dishes and taste at least five locally-brewed craft beers in between stops at important cultural sites.

Meet your guide at Hallgrímskirkja, an architecturally-stunning church that is one of the tallest buildings in Iceland. Follow your guide around the inside of the church before heading to the top of the bell tower for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. Visit the peaceful Einar Jónsson Sculpture Garden before making the first foodie stop.

Next up, is the artsy Skólavörðustígur Street where an abundance of art and design shops provide the best window shopping in Reykjavik. From there, catch views of the stunning Harpa Concert Hall and the National Theatre before making your next food stop. Walking around downtown Reykjavík, your guide will show you other important landmarks like the Alþingi Parliament House and Reykjavík City Hall while regaling you with stories of Icelandic history, culture, and people.

Throughout the tour you'll have the opportunity to sample Icelandic classics including lamb soup, fermented shark, fish jerky, smoked salmon, smoked lamb, fish stew, and an Icelandic hot dog.

A fun evening, rich in history and so many delicacies!

We were fortunate enough to have a private tour with Lella and she was awesome! Lella was able to convey a better picture of the history and culture of Iceland than any reading we had done beforehand. We heard about political and cultural idiosyncrasies of the country as walked the streets of downtown Reykjavik to sample many traditional dishes. So many dishes that I hadn't even heard about, let alone tried - even fermented shark! If you have a few hours to spare in Reykjavik, I highly recommend booking this tour with Funky Iceland!
