Full description
The Golden Circle tour allows you to visit Iceland’s most stunning sights, starting with the Geysir geothermal area where the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 meters (98 feet) into the air every 4-8 minutes in a thrilling display of nature’s force. The tour continues to Gullfoss, the famous waterfall created by the river Hvítá, which plunges into a crevice some 32 meters (105 feet) deep. The falls flows down a wide, curved three-step staircase formation. The third stop on the Golden Circle tour is the historical and geological wonder that is Thingvellir National Park. This UNESCO-listed site is where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet and are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimeters per year.

After the Golden Circle sites, you'll also visit the Fridheimar Geothermal Greenhouse where you'll learn about the amazing methods of managing pests using biological controls and how to grow delicious tomatoes in an eco-friendly way with the aid of geothermal heat. At the end of your amazing day exploring nature, you'll head back to Reykjavik and from there onwards to the Blue Lagoon to soak in the warm and relaxing waters.

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most famous tourist attractions, and considered by many to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Blue Lagoon offers lava and moss filled scenery, state of the art facilities, a unique atmosphere and silica skin masks that make your skin firm, yet incredibly soft. Your ticket includes the Blue Lagoon's Comfort Package which gives you entrance to the Blue Lagoon, a silica mud mask, use of a towel, and a drink of your choice. After you've enjoyed all that the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you'll return to Reykjavík relaxed and rejuvenated.

The experiences themselves were good. What surprised us was that we were not prepared for many passengers to be driven to their hotel which took a long time. Some of us were going on to the blue lagoon which turned out to be a new bus. We did not catch the one who was leaving at 17 so we had to wait until 18 at the bus terminal. This is long after a long day. Then to get home from the Blue Lagoon we had to take the bus which went 22 08. So the whole trip lasted more than 12 hours together. The guide did not inform us until we asked that the tour was divided into two one the golden circle and two the blue lagoon. This led to some frustration and unnecessary waiting. In the confirmation of the trip it says that the activity ends in the same place as it does not start the bus will spend a lot of time driving tourists to their hotels before we others to the blue lagoon in the evening. Had we shown this in advance we had booked two tours. Not everything on the same day.

A really good day, but a little (negatively) surprising that the trip to Blue Lagoon was not integrated with the rest, so we had to return to the bus terminal and wait before another bus went to BG.

Fredrik the tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the trip that much more interesting throughout the duration of the tour. Blue Lagoon was a nice ending to the day.
