Full description
In the heart of Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound is known as one of New Zealand’s top scenic attractions. On this day tour from Queenstown, jump on board an air-conditioned coach and be entertained with commentary from your driver/guide as you pass through Eglinton Valley, the famous Mirror Lakes and Homer Tunnel.

After passing through the 1.2-kilometer-long Homer Tunnel, descend into Milford Sound. Here jump on board a cruise boat and feast on a delicious lunch as your Milford Sound cruise begins. Cruise along the fjord and take in the famous sights of Milford Sound, like the uniquely-shaped Mitre Peak and the glacier-scarred rock walls that rise 1,200 meters vertically from the sea.

Keep an eye out for marine life like dolphins, seals and penguins too. The fjord is dotted with waterfalls that tumble through the valleys and crash into the sound far below, making the scenery in Milford Sound spectacular, rain or shine.

Earliesh start, but welcomed on board the comfortable coach. Very lucky to have been an independent coach trip and not in convoy. The trip to Milford Sound was stunning and how Paulie managed to keep us informed on everything for most of the journey was very impressive. A few stops for photos was also welcome. The boat trip around the sound was fabulous. ( dont bother with lunch though, rubbish pastie and a drink). Return trip was very pleasant again with some stops and then a film for the rest of a long journey. Fabulous day, long day yes but well worth it.

What another MUST DO experience. I've heard many people say you must do this tour and some had done it on our own, but being able to enjoy the comforts of a clean bus, stops along the way; including filling our flasks with Crystal clear water from the creeks...omg...just like in the movies. I never knew that their is water so clean and clear. The tour out in the lake was priceless too. The guide was EXCELLENT and made a whole lot of difference.

The scenery was stunning and getting close to the waterfalls was amazing. But we spent about 10 hours on the coach and we were unsure if it was all worth it in the end when NZ has such great scenery wherever you go.
