What people are saying about Porto

Arriving in Porto earlier in the afternoon, we thought that the tour would be a good way to explore some of the city as well as to sample the local food and drink. We were not disappointed. Our guide, Thiago, was charming and with only my partner and me in the 'group', we were able to ask him lots of questions covering a variety of topics (from the history of the city to the politics in Brazil, and of, course the best beer, wine and port to sample), all of which were answered informatively and with humour. By the time the tour had finished, we were both full up with some tasty food and drink so it was good to be able to walk it all off on our way back to our hotel. My main recommendation would be...don't eat anything beforehand so that you have room to enjoy the fabulous petiscos and the local bebidas!

This was a most excellent day tour from 8am until 6.30pm. an unexpected pleasure (as don't normally take tours) booked for a party of 10. Comfortable bus & friendly driver with a great song playlist (which he was happy we joined in with which we did often!), Two contrasting vineyards &tasty 3 course lunch, river cruise short&sweet and a fantastic guide Daniel who got us band of daft Irish travellers. Informative, articulate, knowledgeable, raconteur (incl jokes) who added immeasurably to the whole day. An early start got off to a perfect start with his charming smile&stop for coffee in that interesting church&beautiful village & coffee shop (for sticky bun enthusiasts like ourselves). Learnt so much about port and the heritage of the Douro valley and have told everyone!

We had an amazing time on our tour today! It was excellent value for money, the wine was amazing and it was so interesting hearing about the different wines and how they are made. The views were more beautiful than I could have imagined, we took lots of pictures. We made excellent time and the lunch was amazing, so much food (and more wine). Our tour guides Tiago and Manuel, were amazing, they were very informative and very funny! Absolutely recommend!!

A full day of seeing a beautiful valley.

Food and wines were great. Views were amazing and the winegarden that we visited were interesting. The guide was helpful and friendly. His English could be better though. Busdriver drove normal on the way to the valley, but in between the first place we visited and the second he drove to hard and irresponsible. The complains weren’t taken serious by the guide. Despite after that the way he drove was better and responsible.

The first winery tour was short and not very informative however the lunch was excellent. All served quickly and professionally. The Douro cruise was good. Would be even better on a dry day! The second winery was very good. Suzanna was very informative and funny. The journey was long. Especially on the way back.
