What people are saying about Playa del Carmen

Best excursion ever! Real jungle, pristine private cenote - awesome!

We chose this tour because it's not the usual resort-promoted excursion. We took a ride through the wild Mayan jungle to swim in a private, crystal clear cenote. All along the way, our guide told us interesting facts about the natural surroundings and many of the indigenous creatures and plants we came across. What an amazing alternative to the usual vacation experience. Worth every penny!

Terrific experience all around- amazing river/caves/guide and food!

Can see why Trip Adviser rates this excursion so highly! The water was crystal clear, great break for the heat outside. Our guide Katia was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The toast at the end was unexpected and delicious, and the buffet was a wonderful way to end the day. Bring pesos to tip the van drivers out and back from the caves.

Nice day trip in a boat visiting Yum Balum and Holbox Island

Nice day. Visited a fresh water under groud spring along the coast. Stop lasts for 30-45 minutes. Back in boat for ride over to Yum Balum. Then back in boat for two minute jump over to Holbox Isand. Both Islands were one island but the caribean thought overwise. Water split the outer edge of island into two seperate islands (cool places). Guide takes you for a walk down the beach to find the lunch host. The host was an authentic Holbox islander who cooked the catch of the day very well. You have a list of food to select from. Start off by placing some big plates of civiche with chips around the group (our group consisted of 8 people). I ordered the Whole fish with garlic and found it quite tasty. After lunch you have some time (I believe it was two hours) to explore Holbox island. A five minute walk from the beach is downtown Holbox. Dirt streets with local shops mixed in with modern tourist collectibles. Bring Pesos and water. Ride boat back to shore and take the bus/shuttle back.

snorkeler's disneyland without the long lines...great food

Nicely developed, taking advantages of the natural resources with minimal impact. Great operation by staff to ensure smooth, hassle free enjoyment and access to the water. Only negative concerns are the confinement of the dolphins and manatees.

Jam packed fun filled day with a lot of adventure.

This was an excellent choice for an excursion on our quick 4 day trip to playa del carmen. Carmen and Javier were great tour guide and driver. She was entertaining, accommodating and well spoken. We really enjoyed seeing the sights of Tulum, Coba and our favorite part was the cenote swim. I would definitely recommend good walking shoes and not sandals for this trip. It's a long day and involves a lot of movement. Coba is hot but a cool archeological site. you can rent bikes or be driven on a tricycle to get to the main pyramid. I would caution that if you bike yourself it is a long ride and the road is very bumpy. The cenote was AMAZING. The water is cool but the stairway can be very scary. Overall i would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone and definitely get in with Carmen - she's great!
