Today is our first time in Seattle, and when I knew we were coming I looked for something to give us an overview of the bustling Pike Place Market area. Our booking was for the Pike Place Market: Food Walking Tour. The day before, as we were traveling into Seattle, Marcia our guide contacted me to check that we had no dietary requirements, were okay with pork and also no mobility issues! We also had all details of where to meet up. Going around with Marcia was incredible! This was not just a tasting tour & a look at the food. We covered the background, history & significance of Pike Place Market to Seattle & Puget Sound area. Excellent knowledge & insights into so much history & significance to the community - getting a true sense of what the market brings to Seattle! (Sadly missing in so many other communities in the USA). The places she showed us in the market we would never have found ourselves - and now we feel a bit more like locals!
Tour was nice, DC the driver/guide was nice and very informative of the sights and history that you see, and answered question on stuff not tour related. Tour started for us at 9am at pick up location by Wells Fargo, then had to go pick up two couples at 2 hotels, then had to go back by the pick up location at Wells Fargo to pick up the last couple. So tour didnt really get going till 10 am or so, and the two couples that we picked up from hotels were on cruises and had to be back by noon. I think the tour is worth the cost as the guide gives a very good tour when it actually starts and its a good way to see lots of the city if you've never been there before so you can plan on seeing things that you pass by on the tour. Freemont troll is a stop on the tour if there are kids on the tour.
We saw so many places on tour. A great overview. Today I walked to Pike Public Market and patronized Pike Chowder and Joe’s Chocolates on recommendation of tour driver. He did great job on history of New New York. Learned about indigenous people here first and their folklore. Thank you to our great guide, James Girdle.
We have a small staff (six) and was looking for something fun to do as a team building activity. We are located about 30 minutes outside of Seattle, so this was a perfect way to get us into the "big city" and do something fun and out of the ordinary together!
Lucky is a very experienced guide with lots of local knowledge. He's a local, so that's an advantage. More food than expected on the tour. Absolutely great experience. We enjoyed every minute.
