The Aek team and guide were great. They allowed us to visit the different sites alone (with the 30 people on the boat). We were able to take the time at each stop. Only downside is the village on stilts where we wander the streets and we are very requested by the locals to buy. It was still nice to see this village. The meals on the island is very good, plentiful, a little spicy for the children and we were able to spend 1 hour on a beach worthy of postcards.

The early start was worth it. We were the first boat to moor at James Bond island although the island itself is a bit disappointing :-) But we had more things lines up that were worth it. Next we went for a canoe ride in a beautiful are between lime formations and greenery. We saw tiny bats in a cave, some interesting formations from the limestone, strange spiders, a water snake and an iguana. Next was the floating island which was interesting to see. After that we went into a lagoon inside one of the limestone islands. As it was a low tide we tracked in the water to enter through a cave. It was fascinating to see how water has dug inside the rock to form this space inside with vegetation . Finally lunch and some beach time at a beautiful island.

We were quite early at James Bond island, as promised and the speedboat they used was good. Did not particularly like the tour though. If you like adventure, this tour may not be suitable for you. The cave tour was not very interesting, the kayak was staffed, so we couldn’t kayak ourself and the tour of the floating village was mainly directed at shopping and was not very respectful towards the locals, especially in the school. Guide made a lot of the standard guide-jokes. First time I really felt like a tourist in two weeks of traveling in Thailand.
