Full description
Celebrate your trip to France and enjoy some bubbly on a round-trip excursion from Paris to Champagne. Before you begin popping bottles, stop in the city of Reims, the capital of the Champagne region. Reims is home to a gothic cathedral, the Notre Dame de Reims. This cathedral was where the kings of France were crowned, including a coronation in 1429 attended by Joan of Arc. Enjoy the cathedral’s phenomenal architecture and learn about its key role in France’s royal history.

Continue on to the Taittinger Champagne House, one of the most well-known names in the Champagne region. A Champagne expert will guide you through a tour of the Taittinger cellars and explain the champagne making process while showing you where the bottles are stored. Your cellar tour will finish with a tasting of Taittinger’s finest champagne. Then, enjoy some free time to eat lunch in the town of Épernay.

Make your next stop at the Abbey of Hautvillers, known as the birthplace of champagne. Built in the 7th century by Benedictine monks, the Abbey of Hautvillers is rumored to be where Dom Perignon accidentally created the drink that we celebrate with today. Explore the building and learn more about the quaint village of Hautvillers. For the 2nd champagne house of the tour, visit a small, family-owned vineyard. Enjoy more delicious champagne and compare your boutique vineyard experience with that of Taittinger – enjoying the care that both a small family-owned champagne house and a world-famous one take in creating the world’s celebratory libation.
