Full description
Tuesday 14 July 1789: this day still holds its place in modern conversations. It would be difficult to talk about France and not mention the famous storming of La Bastille, when the history of France turned upside down. But what really makes this tour so special? Besides benefiting from a small group tour (8 persons maximum) with a passionate certified historian guide, this unique Historical Adventure Tour will involve you in the events that occurred on that day, making the tour both more fun and engaging. Along the way, you will be able to exchange with your French Revolution expert and learn tons of thrilling anecdotes.

Here is how it works: you won’t have to do any acting and will simply be more engaged in the events of this particular character. Pick a historical character card at the start of the tour. Your card will holds a key player in the event — it might be a lawyer, an officer or a washerwoman. As you walk, learn about the cast of the important characters of the revolution’s events. Among them, relive the French Revolution’s mix of hope and horror. At the end of the tour, you will have to guess if you will survive the revolution or not.

This tour will begin at the starting point of the revolution, Invalides, where the rebellions broke out. As you follow the footsteps of the first revolutionaries through Paris, you’ll stop at Place de la Concorde to learn about its tragic change into a stage for the guillotine, killing thousands of people and other important events. Close to the Louvre, Palais-Royal will be your following stop, where brainstorming occurred to prepare for the popular uprising. Then, just like Parisians from 1789, you’ll pass next to the Hotel de Ville (Town Hall) to finally reach Bastille. At that point, you’ll learn about the huge feudal jail, and its governor who refused to open the doors to help the insurgents. It will now be time to wake up from the past and get back to reality. Take your weight off your feet and relish a drink in a typical Parisian café.Whether your character stayed alive during the revolution or not will be revealed by then.
